Setting: You are a photographer from a local newspaper in the Plains during the Dust Bowl. You have been assigned to record through pictures what is happening during the Dust Bowl. Task: 1. Create a presentation showing pictures taken during the Dust Bowl. 2. Write brief descriptions (captions) to go with the pictures. Can be used with Dust Bowl Webquest located in my store.

Inspired by the Shurley Method Persuasive Essay, this rubric can be used to correct persuasive essays. Included at the bottom in an area to mark off which type of sentences the student has included in their essay.

BASIC PROJECT DESCRIPTION You will complete a pen and ink drawing using words to determine values. By choosing a picture to work from with high emotional content and then using a thesaurus to select words that describe the picture's content, you will help ensure the success of this project. Words should be placed together tighter, made bolder etc. to achieve darker values. I used this at the end of the semester so they could use their calligraphy and drawing skills.

This allows them to own up to not doing what they needed to for the group to be successful.
