In addition to classroom teaching, I’ve coached cheer, track, and cross-country, helping students develop teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills both on and off the field. This experience complements my teaching philosophy: I prioritize student voice, personal growth, and real-world skill development in all my lessons. I am also the ASB advisor at the high school I am teaching at. I know the struggle of a new ASB advisor trying to figure out to balance teaching with advising, so I began compiling my ASB resources to help new and veteran ASB advisors and Leadership teachers with their curriculum and programs.
I am a mom of three girls-the oldest is in college, the middle is about to graduate high school, and the youngest "graduating" from elementary school. I have been happily married for 23 years to a social studies teacher.
