About the store

Experience

I am a veteran educator and curriculum developer with nearly two decades of experience, primarily focused on upper elementary and middle school. My background includes running a specialized expeditionary microschool for 3rd–5th graders, where I pioneered Project-Based Learning (PBL) and experiential units. I have a deep mastery of IB MYP (Design and Science), Montessori principles, and standards-based instruction (CCSS, NGSS, ISTE, and Colorado State Standards).

Teaching style

My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that education should be interdisciplinary, experiential, and socially just. I specialize in creating service-learning units that connect students to real-world impact. As a bilingual educator and a parent of 2E (Twice-Exceptional) children, I design resources that include both the extensions and scaffolds necessary for diverse learners to succeed. Every resource I create is formatted to support students with dyslexia and EF challenges, ensuring that organization and focus are built directly into the curriculum.

Awards & shining teacher moments

The highlight of my career was running an expeditionary microschool, where I saw firsthand how PBL and community-based learning transform student engagement. I am currently scaling that success by developing a comprehensive microschool middle school curriculum that follows these same core principles. I also taught in bilingual (Spanish/English) classrooms for many years.

My own education history

I hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, providing the research-based foundation for all my "Classroom Everywhere" resources. My training is diverse, spanning Montessori methodologies to the IB MYP framework. I also taught graduate courses to train teachers in Elementary Math Methods. I am bilingual (Spanish) and have a certificate in Culturally and Linguisitically Diverse Learners.
