Oil Pastel Remembrance/Veterans Day Poppies
This resource includes a learning goal and success criteria for students to individually and collaboratively create an oil pastel portion of a poppy, as well as an assessment rubric for teachers. This beautiful art activity can be used as part of a Remembrance/Veterans week unit. Note: Poppy templates are not included. I would show students pictures of real poppies and discuss as a whole group the shapes and colours found in a poppy prior to beginning this activity.
