This is a great way to spice up your Lab Safety unit!This is how we review our Lab Safety Rules at the beginning of the year. We set the lab up to look as though the scenarios in this unit happened and put police tape over the door to the lab. Then we explain to the students that there has been an accident in the lab and they can investigate to determine what has happened. We give them clipboards with the lab printed out and have then read through the scenarios and examine the evidence in the l

This lab walks students through an investigation to determine if three things are matter (wooden block, water, and air). Students can follow the instructions to measure the mass and volume of the materials. This lab uses the scientific method layout.
