Teaching style

(Elizabeth) My favorite part of homeschooling is being able to teach my kids in a way that works for them. I’m hands-on and creative, using out-of-the-box approaches to make abstract concepts concrete and relatable. Learning becomes engaging, fun, and meaningful when it’s tailored to how each child learns best.

Awards & shining teacher moments

There are no awards for homeschool teaching- except the feeling of success when my kiddo finally understands a difficult concept! When their eyes light up because it finally clicks, that’s better than any award.

My own education history

Elizabeth was homeschooled from 2nd through 12th grade and later attended technical school for dental assisting. Mat was homeschooled from 1st through 12th grade and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

Additional biographical information

We’re Elizabeth and Mat, high school sweethearts and homeschool alumni now raising our three kids. We feel so lucky- married to each other, best friends, and raising our kids together, just like we dreamed back in high school. Mat is a microbiologist and the “numbers guy” of our duo, while Elizabeth is the creative homeschool mom who once struggled with math- sparking her passion for hands-on, tangible teaching that actually makes sense. As a neurodivergent family, we know kids learn in different ways. Elizabeth designs engaging, hands-on resources for our own kids and shares them to help other families and classrooms, while also supporting our family’s income. Together, we combine brains and creativity to help kids not just learn, but understand. ✨ Where brainy meets creative- learning made fun! ✨
