I have 25+ years of experience in education, beginning my career in 1999 as a teaching assistant. I spent five years as a TA, building a strong foundation in student support and classroom instruction.
I later taught for three years as a classroom teacher, specializing in math and science, followed by three years as a curriculum specialist, where I focused on lesson design, standards alignment, and instructional support.
Throughout my career, I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th grade, allowing me to create resources that are developmentally appropriate, practical, and classroom-tested.

Teaching style
My teaching style is clear, structured, and student-focused. I believe students learn best when expectations are explicit, lessons are broken into manageable steps, and practice is purposeful. I design lessons that guide students from understanding to independence, with visuals, modeling, and opportunities for discussion built in.

I was the 2011 Teacher of the Year at my campus.
My own education history
I went graduated from Donna ISD in South Texas. I continued my education at STC and moved on over to UTPA. I followed with my masters at Lamar University in Corpus.
Additional biographical information
Outside the classroom, I enjoy quiet, cozy moments—listening to music, playing games, and relaxing by a fire. I value creativity, balance, and reflection, which influences the thoughtful and intentional design of my resources.
