Unless you have a system in place to collect late/absent work, it can be difficult to keep track of the work students turn in (Which assignment is this? When was it originally assigned or due? Was the student absent, or is it late?) This form is meant to relieve the headache that absent/late work can cause by keeping it organized, while at the same time holding the students accountable. Students simply fill out and staple this form to their late/absent work when turning it it.
