About the store

Experience

I have had the pleasure of teaching in many different settings ranging from severe behavior and cognitive needs to accommodating gifted and talented students. This is also my second year teaching third grade and I am enjoying each and every day when I can learn something new from my students!

Teaching style

In my classroom, you will see students in charge of their own learning. I like my students to take part in the learning process by asking their own questions, creating their own assignments, designing their own projects and reflecting on what they have learned. Collaboration is key and I like to have students teach and learn from others. I love utilizing different forms of technology to have my students collaborate with experts and other students extending learning outside our classroom.

My own education history

I graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelors in Elementary Education and minor in Children's Studies.

Additional biographical information

My second hobby is traveling! I love to take my experiences from around the World and bring them back to by classroom. I have traveled as a leader for a Middle School group across Europe and have been able to invite guest speakers from around the world into my classroom using Skype or other forms of technology.
