This graphic organizer is designed to help students find the moral of a fable, folktale, or myth. Students will analyze characters and the challenges they face to help conceptualize the lesson or moral of the story.

This is a great project to end your Simple Machines Unit! Students design and build an arcade game using one or more simple machines. This is a fun activity to supplement your Volcano unit. Students will use the website provided to research a volcano around the World of their choosing. Students will then record their research and the handout provided. The website easily displays information for students and provides a link to a photo of the volcano and interesting facts. This is a great pre-assessment for a simple machines unit. Student's are to design a device that will lift an elephant out of it's cage. You can use this to preasses what machines students already know by what they use in their drawings (lever, incline plane, pulley, ect.). At the end of your unit, give this same assignment to students again and see how their drawings are different.
