About the store

Experience

Throughout my teaching career, I have taught 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, and 11th ELA and Literature, 6th and 7th Social Studies, and K-2 and Middle School ESL.

Teaching style

I believe strongly in student choice and hands-on engagement in the learning process. Learning to write with evidence and analyzing literature are two of my favorite ELA topics to teach, but most of all, I love grammar -- commas, especially!

My own education history

My B.A. is from Dordt University in Secondary Education: English/Language Arts, with endorsements in Middle School: ELA and Social Studies, along with a minor in TESL. In 2016, I completed my M.Ed. through Dordt University in Teacher Leadership: Curriculum and Instruction.

Additional biographical information

Hi everyone! I'm Kristin, creator and author at Commas and Cultures! My store is packed full of innovative, reading, writing, and social studies activities for students in grades 5-12. I hope you can find everything you need here!
