About the store
Currently I'm teaching third grade and loving it. I was part of a Common Core transitioning team this past summer and it's been a great experience. I taught fifth grade years ago and really enjoyed the higher levels of learning that come with that age. Teaching has always been a passion of mine regardless of the age of the student. I often teach staff members technology skills as part of our Professional Development.

Regions & Habitats of Georgia Differentiated Menu Project

Part of studying the Regions and Habitats of Georgia is covering a wide range of material. One of the best ways to get your kids excited about self-study is to offer an opportunity for them to do work at both home and at school. This menu allows students to select a project to work on during class time as well as a secondary project to work on at home. Two items are used to score student work. For column A there is a Habitats & Regions rubric and for column B there is a self evaluation since

Differentiated Project Menu for Social Studies

This document was created as a Differentiated Democracy Project Menu where students can select projects to create and present. You can use this as a template if you'd like to make any changes. Menus are a great way to show true differentiation of student ability. Project Self-Evaluation

This self-evaluation was designed for students to reflect on their work and effort in an honest and risk-free way. Self-evaluation for students has proven an important tool for me as a teacher in that I can find ways to improve upon future lessons. As this is a word document, you can feel free to change it to meet your needs.

Soil Inside Out Poem

Poetry is a subject that can be easily embedded in any subject. This sample in particular uses Soil as the poetry topic. Students studying soil layers are to describe through poetry how to go layer by layer through the soil while detailing what they might see along the way...bugs, worms, rocks, etc. Very creative way to integrate a little poetry into your science unit! You can also adapt this lesson to work with the Earth's core, plants, or anything you can come up with!
