Complementary Angles Classroom

This is a bilingual Quadratic Function: Axis of Symmetry (and other key features) Introduction. The resource has students hole punch using a star, hole and heart hole puncher to locate key features of a quadratic function from a graph. This introduction utilizes students prior knowledge of a "line of symmetry" of a butterfly. For my ENL students, I found this to be a great visual resource that was used throughout the entire Quadratics unit in Algebra 1.

This Transformations of Quadratic Functions Discovery Activity helps students understand the impact the values of a, h and k have on a quadratic graph from the parent graph f(x)= x^2 to a transformed graph in vertex form. This can be used as a stations activity or as a jigsaw lesson.

Partner activity to review exponent rules as a Do Now, Exit Ticket or review activity. This is a self checking activity. "Directions: You will work on these 5 problems. When you are finished, find your partner and check your answers. Make sure all answers are with POSITIVE EXPONENTS. If the answers are not the same, discuss to see if you can fix the error."
