Complementary Angles Classroom

This lesson is modeled after EUREKA Math Lessons (Geometry Module 1, Topic B, Lesson 7 and Grade 8 Module 2, Topic C, Lesson 12). This includes a SUPER BOWL SUNDAY Discovery Activity, Exit Ticket and Review of Angle Relationships. One of my favorite lessons! The way we print it in the classroom as 2 to a page so the kids have a booklet but you can print it however you like.

This is a real world lesson based on the proportionality of calories in Starbucks drinks. This helps students get actively engaged in their learning, find the constant of proportionality from a graph, table and equation and gets their brains thinking in a different way. This Transformations of Quadratic Functions Discovery Activity helps students understand the impact the values of a, h and k have on a quadratic graph from the parent graph f(x)= x^2 to a transformed graph in vertex form. This can be used as a stations activity or as a jigsaw lesson.
