It offers the context of her fame--the diary she kept while living in a "secret annex" with seven other people. Anne became known posthumously when her family published her diary. They wanted to humanize the victims of the holocaust and show their experiences to the world. Anne's diary is a short, accessible read across many grade level

Additional biographical information
I am a Canadian educator. My favourite subject is math--but I have a specialized background in English Language Arts and Social Studies!
My first degree focused on global colonial histories (particularly in the Asia-Pacific region) and postcolonial injustice and resistance. My second is a B.Ed. focusing on EFL/ELL and vulnerable learners.
