Teaching style

Use of hands on, engaging, inquiry based, and conceptual lessons within a safe environment so students learn from successes as well as mistakes. Asking thoughtful questions to guide student discovery help solidify learning is so much more meaningful than focusing only rote memorization of facts and algorithms. If a student understands the concept being taught then memorization becomes another tool to increase their ability to solve problems. Knowing how to get the answer without understanding meaning is not learning.
