I've worked in public, academic, and school libraries for over 16 years. I began my librarian experience as a children's and teen services librarian in the public library world. I moved over to the school library/media specialist world 10 years ago and work in a public school library/media center. I visit with Pre-K-5th grade every week hosting story times, music/movement/dance activities, and many creative/art responses to what we read together. I've recently been very into hosting centers/stations for student choice and to offer lots of different avenues for creative expression and learning.

Jungle Animals Tracing Worksheet
Your students can practice their writing and letters by tracing the jungle animal words on these sheets with a pencil or you can laminate them or use them in plastic sleeves for students to use dry erase markers.

STEAM House Template for Fine Motor Skills
I made this simple house outline template to use during Three Little Pigs center with Pre-K after hosting a Three Little Pigs story time. In a tray in the middle of the tables I placed legos (for bricks), little stick pieces (from Michael's), and fake straw/hay material (from Michael's.) My pre-k students were able to "build" houses while exercising their fine motor skills for the Three Little Pigs in this sensory/STEAM activity.

Carmela Full of Wishes "I Imagine..." Papel Picado-Style Writing & Art Sheet
I created this handout for my 1st graders to use in response to reading Carmela Full of Wishes. As Robinson used papel picado in the illustrations for what Carmela imagined could happen in her world, I am using papel picado frames for students to draw what they imagine and write a brief explanation below their drawing.

Flotsam Art Response to Literature
I love to read the wordless David Wiesner book with my third graders as their end of the school year/ocean/summer story share. Then, I use this activity sheet as an art response to literature. Along with the drawing prompt on this sheet, you could invite your students (as another option) to draw a fantastical, underwater scene in their photo frame similarly to what we viewed in the story---but with the students' own ideas and imaginations.

I made these coloring sheets in Canva for my Pre-K students to color and write the color of the animals or plant on the line to complete the sentences. We learned colors in Spanish last week in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month so my students will write the color name in Spanish.

I made this handout on Canva for a scissors cutting center after sharing The Three Little Pigs. You can also laminate the pages or put them in clear, plastic sleeves and have students use dry erase markers to practice tracing to strengthen their fine motor skills for writing.

Destiny Catalog Video Game Themed Reset Barcode Sign
If your school library uses Follett's Destiny catalog, you can print out and use this barcode for students and teachers to scan to reset the screen----or take their home down from the screen to "reset" for the next library patron. I have fun videogame sound effects for when kids and teachers scan their books too. You can upload new sound effects from free sound effect sites online.

Firefly to Toadstool Pre-Writing Tracing Sheet
I use pre-writing, tracing sheets in centers for my pre-k students in the library. I host a themed story time and then, the following week, I host centers around the theme including writing/pre-writing with sheets such as these. I print them out in color, laminate them, and students use dry erase markers and erasers. I created this one for my last summer/firefly center with my pre-k'ers this year.

This handout was created to go home for Black History Month with grades 3-5 and to be filled out and returned to help decorate our cafeteria walls for our Black History Celebration Night. Students can watch a video of me reading from a book about Muriel Tramis and then sketch out their own video game based on a historical event (as Ms. Tramis based her video games on true historical events from her country of Martinique.)
