This math activity helps you celebrate a student birthday during math by having them sort colored confetti (preferably using an interactive screen of some kind) and then giving them a cake with the date to practice reading and counting the candles and finally filling out a calendar with that information. Ideally done with the class so it feels like a celebration. There are a variety of sorting slides, choose one per birthday. Enjoy!
This brief presentation gives a short history of Pi, a slide of the digits of Pi, two activities to help students calculate Pi, and a writing activity relating to Pi. Happy Pi Day!!
This is a group activity that can be a fun opportunity for students to think about factors and work with their friends.
