About the store

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in innovation and relevance, always aiming to make meaningful connections for students. I focus on strategies like close reading and chunking text to build understanding, while keeping lessons engaging and student-centered. I believe in fostering student agency through reading, writing, and creating—helping learners take ownership of their growth while staying actively involved in the process.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive recognition that reflects my passion for teaching and supporting others. I was awarded the Building Capacity Award for empowering teachers and helping them grow in their instructional practices. I was also recognized for Creativity and Relevance, celebrating my commitment to designing learning experiences that are both innovative and meaningful for students. These moments remind me why I do what I do—because when teachers feel supported and students feel engaged, everyone thrives.

My own education history

I started my journey as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, where I quickly learned the challenges (and joys!) of meeting students’ diverse needs. From there, I became an instructional coach supporting Kinder through 5th grade teachers, then served as an assistant principal at the elementary level. Now, as a curriculum coordinator, I specialize in creating resources in both English and Spanish that make teaching reading and STAAR skills more practical, engaging, and effective. My goal is to design tools that save teachers time, support student success, and make learning meaningful.
