Teaching style

First of all, I am a results oriented instructor. I do not like just going through the motions. It is important to me that each and every student make progress according to his ability. Secondly, I love working with students and find value in the connections we make as instructor and student. Lastly, I can push the students to excel. I have experience with helping English Learners to succeed in AP English classes. I have taught rhetoric in AP Language and close reading in AP Literature—both are essential skills for English Learners. I am a proponent of using drama activities with English Learners. Not only do the students receive pronounciation practice for an authentic reason, but repetition is built into the rehearsal time. I also like dramatizing the reading assignment when possible through Readers Theater or impromtu dialogues.
