In class, it didn't matter how "Bill Nye" I got, my students wouldn't read the content. These easy-to-use, comic-style lessons & activities get them EXCITED & ENGAGED in science. They WANT TO READ these comics. I am Laura Balliett, a middle school science and math teacher. I spent most of my career at a charter school for at-risk youth. I've been there. I have spent late nights trying to find a lesson that might finally grab their attention. I stood at the front of the room and watched students roll their eyes when I handed them something to read. I was desperate to help my kids engage in the content and find success in science. It was not until I started presenting topics in this one-page cartoon format that everything changed. Comics grab the attention of graphic novel lovers and make content less intimidating for struggling readers. They bridge literacy gaps & make content approachable. My goal is to make it EASY for you to engage your reluctant readers and struggling students.
