About the store
Hi, I've been tutoring math and science for over a decade, in British Columbia, Canada. In that time, I've seen what a scramble it is to have resources that are clear, detailed and yet not bogged down. Any test that has detailed answer is gold! After a decade, I've so many resources of these types that I'd like to share with you. Tutoring a wide variety of subjects and all the high school grades has also allowed me to see a full snapshot of how the grade curricula tie together. This helps me know what to focus on in my notes and teaching.

Experience

Hi, I've been tutoring math and science for over a decade, in British Columbia, Canada. In that time, I've seen what a scramble it is to have resources that are clear, detailed and yet not bogged down. Any test that has detailed answer is gold! After a decade, I've so many resources of these types that I'd like to share with you. Tutoring a wide variety of subjects and all the high school grades has also allowed me to see a full snapshot of how the grade curricula tie together. This helps me know what to focus on in my notes and teaching.

Teaching style

I get good results with clear, simple explanations. I apply that to my solution keys, which guide the student through answers step by step. I pay particular attention to the areas where many students have shown, time and again, they get tripped up. For tests, the best ones are the ones with detailed solutions. Students often quickly learn by seeing the solution presented in clear steps. I've also learned that for detailed solutions, students prefer hand written solutions. Time and again they tell me they have trouble pulling relevant information out of type written material. So I've written up some detailed answer keys for many of the tests I use. When I haven't been able to do that, I at least provide answer keys. Oh, and like Sal Kahn of Kahn academy, I'm a big fan of colour coding.

My own education history

I studied Physiological Psychology at Dalhousie University. During my undergrad, I was a tutor for the Physics Department. Since then, I've been teaching many topics over the decades, focusing on science and math for middle school, high school and first year university.
