Community Helpers Lesson Everything you need for a 30-45 minute lesson about careers for grades 1-3. Students break into 5 small groups: teacher, firefighter, police officer, mechanic, doctor. Each group reads a realistic fiction story about their career and answer questions about education, job responsibility, and preferences. Groups can then share with the class. Directly introduces concepts also seen in my Career Trivia Game available in my shop. Can be used by school counselors or classroom

I have been district Elementary Counselor of the year, North Carolina Elementary Counselor of the year, and received my National Board Certification in 2009. I received the RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) award for comprehensive school counseling in 2008.
