The Engineer-in-Residence program is a colloborative effort between the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Ministry of Eduction. Its purpose was to promote the STEM curriculum in schools, both elemnetary and secondary. I volunteered for a number of years at a local high school where I gave talks to various grades covering various applied science and technology topics.

The Email Game was developed to provide an understanding of how the internet could work. It is a simulation for delivering email. Each student acts as an email server, delivering and receiving emails. However, for delivery each student does not know where all the other email boxes are. They know where some locations are, but not all. To solve this each student has a “dumping” location for all the mail for which they don’t know the location. They move around the classroom delivering what they can

Additional biographical information

Over 40 years experience in public and private enterprise in various fields involving transportation including; railways, airports and airspace management. Strong capabilities in data analytics and critical thinking.
