A slideshow with dot patterns for subitizing. Patterns range from single groupings to multiple groupings. The intention is for children to verbalise what they saw, eg "3 dots in a horizontal line" or "one dot in each corner and one in the middle". As patterns become more complex children will see them in different ways, and the teacher can annotate on the slide accordingly. This builds children's library of mental objects for numbers.
