This project gets students to explore storytelling from several different cultures from across the globe, practice their summarizing skills, and also sharpen their abilities to infer and interpret. For the first part, students access videos and then write about what they've learned. For the second part, assign a novel (or several) that is directly rooted within the author's culture. This document can easily be uploaded to Google Drive, converted to a Doc, and distributed via Classroom.

Teaching style

My teaching style is heavily based on my belief that kids are full human beings, capable of so much more than many give them credit for. Most of my assignments and projects are open-ended. I also provided many opportunities for my students to think critically and creatively, as well as actively be creative.
