What's in a Kitchen? Culinary Activity Book is an activity book that highlights kitchen safety, tools used in the kitchen, and cooking vocabulary words. You will find matching activities, word searches, coloring pages and more to help your little chef in the kitchen!
Cooking uses all five senses - sight (to see what's happening), touch (to wash and prepare foods), hearing (to listen for sounds), smell (as food cooks), and taste (tasting what they are making!). In this lab, students will investigate different vegetables using their senses and discover their smell, taste, texture and appearance. Students will learn kitchen and knife safety and learn how to prepare Ranch Dressing from scratch and prepare a vegetable platter!
Being able to read food labels is a useful skill that is easy to learn and can be used for a lifetime. In this lab, you will uncover the ingredients in processed Pie Crusts and Whipped Cream and learn how to make your own from scratch! Printouts include a Food Additive and Preservative information, how to read a Nutrition Label, Whipped Cream Lab and recipes for creating a Pie Crust and Whipped Cream from scratch.
