About the store
I began my career as a graphic designer and illustrator, and I earned my teaching degree after turning 40. I have experience teaching students from Pre-K to college level in various settings, including afterschool programs, homeschool cooperatives, nature camps, and public schools. Currently, I teach visual art to middle school students in grades 5 through 8. The subjects I have taught, or am currently teaching, include Visual Arts, Engineering, Photography, Graphic Design, Printmaking, Drawing and Choice Art Studio.

Experience

I began my career as a graphic designer and illustrator, and I earned my teaching degree after turning 40. Teaching style

Positivity! High energy! Hands-on learning! That's what you see in my classroom. I am transitioning to a more choice-based learning experience for my students. I firmly believe in providing opportunities for skill-building and foundational learning while introducing students to a diverse range of creativity, art, and makers from around the world. As a graphic designer at heart, I strive to encourage risk-taking among my students and help them discover their SPARK—what excites them about learning!

Awards & shining teacher moments

For several years, I have presented at the New Hampshire state Art Educators Association Fall Conference. May-December 2024: My students' art was selected for display at the NH Audubon in Manchester, NH. The large-scale weaving combines printmaking and fabric arts to raise awareness of trash in waterways. April 2024: Received the AMS "High Flyer" Award for elavating the arts in our school community and for my work with art clubs in our school.
