Experience

I have over a decade of experience teaching high school students at the remedial, general/college-preparatory level, and advanced.

Teaching style

In teaching high school English, I have adopted a largely minimalistic style. Overly complex projects, scavenger hunts, interactive notebooks, or meticulously engineered graphic organizers are simply not a substitute for genuine comprehension of, connection to, and conversation about challenging and interesting texts. I design resources with the intention of helping students build a foundation upon which the deeper understanding that comes from genuine human connection can be built. My collection of resources is based on what I currently use or have used in my classroom - created by me, never AI.
