Shake and spill is such a fun game to use in kindergarten and first grade to help with composing and decomposing numbers. It's a hands-on activity so these worksheets can be used in a dry-erase pocket in order to be used over and over again. I created worksheets at different levels to meet different needs, beginning with decomposing 5. I also included a recording sheets for advanced students who can play the game with a partner independently. Have fun and enjoy!

I shared this resource with the school librarian when she created a special reading event and she loved it. It's a great way for students to share their love for reading and make book recommendations while also appreciating friendship. In addition, the primary lining makes it easy for the younger students to participate in the writing aspect of the activity.
