Welcome to Creating Communicators! Hi! I'm Mindy, the owner of Creating Communicators, an Indigenous-owned therapy company dedicated to supporting communication, learning, and inclusion. I have over 20 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and more than 25 years of experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of partnering with schools, daycares, Head Starts, and First Nation communities across Alberta. My goal is to create practical, engaging, and easy-to-use resources that help educators, therapists, and families build communication skills through meaningful, play-based learning. Teaching style

My Teaching Philosophy I believe that every child learns differently. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning, which is why I strive to make every activity engaging, meaningful, and fun. My philosophy is simple: Show them, don't just tell them. Children learn best through hands-on experiences, movement, exploration, and play. I love using games, interactive activities, and real-life experiences to build communication, language, fine motor, and social skills. By making learning enjoyable, children stay motivated, gain confidence, and develop skills they can use every day. Whether you're a teacher, therapist, educational assistant, or parent, I hope these resources help you create meaningful learning experiences that children look forward to.

My own education history

I have a Rehabilitation services diploma from Grande Prairie Regional College and a Speech Language Pathology Assistant diploma from Grant MacEwan University. I have been working as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant since 2002.
