Creating Meaningful Math

This activity allows students to explore and apply exponent properties. There is a guided practice sheet, a notes page/scaffolding device, five sets of task cards varying in difficulty (each includes a QR code so students can check their own answers), and an answer sheet. A set of 12 Task Cards with linear equations including distributive property, variables on both sides and all solution types (no solution, one solution, and infinite solutions). Comes complete with 2 scaffolding devices that can be used to support struggling learners or those just learning the concept. These are also great for interactive notebooks. There is an answer sheet with QR codes so students can check their own work. Great for individual practice, group work, or station activities.

Students love to find the mistakes of others! This activity allows students to analyze the work of another student. They will find the errors in the student's work and correctly solve the equation. At the end, the student will reflect on their own errors and how they can prevent these common errors in their own work.
