I created this to use as a homework piece but it would work just as well to check student's understanding of reading and writing the time. Students also have to mark whether an event is A.M. or P.M.
I have created one word problem for each type of bar model. Students read each word problem and decide which bar model it matches with.
Types of Bar Models:
Part-part-whole (+)
Add-On (+) use for adding on same sets
Whole-part-part (-)
Take-Away (-) use for subtracting same sets
An easy to use resource for students to show you all the steps and strategies to solving bar models. Students use the diagram to make whether the problem is a whole-part-part or part-part-whole.
Great worksheet to use as small group, whole group extension or as a quick assessment to check student's understanding of how to add using various strategies relation to place value and number sense.
Indepedent math center where students roll a doule die or 2 dice. They add to find the sum. Students will color the square of the the sum. The first column to reach the top will win!
