All-in-one, easy printable lesson. I've used this with grades K-5th, but obviously you have to read the text aloud to the younger kiddos and provide a little extra assistance if they don't know the letters of their names yet. Makes an excellent substitute lesson! You just need something to write and color with.

This bundle includes a 3-D Egyptian scarab plus the wings and sun that attach (great for your older grades), a pharaoh's crown with hieroglyphs (simpler cutting for younger grades), and two additional cartouche handouts with either the hieroglyph alphabet or some of the most well-know Egyptian symbols and some bonus information on both! All you need for any of these projects is something to draw with, something to color with, scissors, and glue sticks (or tape). Any or all of them make awesome s
All-in-one, easy prep, one day lesson! Make a beautiful and 3-D Egyptian Scarab beetle with this handout, some colors, scissors and glue (or tape). Designed with cuts, folds and tabs, this beetle pops into shape when you put it together. Do it on it's own or download the Scarab Wings handout (free!!) to make it extra special! I've used it with 2nd-5th grade and got a good reception and good results (with the occasional leg needed some surgery to reattach). I think it would be great for middle sc

Simple, all-in-one printable activity that teaches your students how to draw some of the most well known Egyptian symbols and the meaning behind them! If you're an art teacher like me, you might want to follow it up the way that I have and have them trace their final design onto styrofoam printing plates for an easy printmaking project (I like to use gold printing ink on black paper). This works with the other cartouche printable I have available as well (with the hieroglyphic alphabet). I find

All you need is something to color with, scissors and glue sticks (or tape). Excellent lesson for substitutes too! I have used this with grades K- 5th and got both a good reception and a good result (adjusting your standards of craftsmanship of course). Wonderful for increasing those scissor skills with younger kids.

One page activity based on the Mimbres pottery of the southwest. Students learn a little about the tradition designs and imagery used and are then asked to use a pottery sherd as the foundation of their design, extrapolating from the lines to imagine what the bowl might have once looked like whole. Traditionally Mimbres pottery is black and white, but you could absolutely allow them to color their designs in if you were looking for a way to invest a little more time in the activity. As always, t
