All-in-one, easy printable lesson. I've used this with grades K-5th, but obviously you have to read the text aloud to the younger kiddos and provide a little extra assistance if they don't know the letters of their names yet. Makes an excellent substitute lesson! You just need something to write and color with.

Simple, all-in-one printable activity that teaches your students how to draw some of the most well known Egyptian symbols and the meaning behind them! If you're an art teacher like me, you might want to follow it up the way that I have and have them trace their final design onto styrofoam printing plates for an easy printmaking project (I like to use gold printing ink on black paper). One page activity based on the Mimbres pottery of the southwest. Students learn a little about the tradition designs and imagery used and are then asked to use a pottery sherd as the foundation of their design, extrapolating from the lines to imagine what the bowl might have once looked like whole.
