About the store

Experience

We have been teaching 4th grade together for 15 years! Both of us have our bachelors degree in elementary education and masters degrees. Laura has been teaching for 15 years as a 4th grade ELA teacher. Jenna has been teaching for 25 years, working in a self-contained classroom before moving to IST then returning to the classroom as a 4th grade ELA teacher.

Teaching style

We teach a balanced literacy program with no use of basal or textbook programs. We create, search and discover all the materials we use with our students, based around our district created curriculum. After teaching remotely for the last year, we have created many new versions of our materials that are completely digital. Our students are provided chromebooks and have access to Google Apps, so many of our materials are in that format.

My own education history

Laura has earned her masters in curriculum and instruction. She is currently working a second masters degree in an educational technology. Jenna has her masters in reading and is a certified reading specialist.
