I have been teaching for over 20 years. I started out in 2nd grade, moved to 5th, 4th and now I have been in 3rd grade for over 13 years. I have been lucky to work with many different teacher who have been in different places in their careers. I have learned so much from each and every one of them. During my career I have co-taught with 5 different special education teachers. I love when other teachers work in my classroom. It opens my eyes up to new/different strategies/styles.

Parent/Teacher Conference Sign
Is it hard for you to keep to your parent/teacher conference time schedule? This sign helps. I post this sign on my door and next to the list of conference times posted in the hallway. I also put a clock in the hall. Most parents will knock to let me and the parent I am with know that the conference time is up. The knock makes ending a conference much easier.

My own education history
I have my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College (a teaching college in Buffalo, NY). I have my masters in reading k-12 from there as well.
