This is my 10th year of teaching. I have taught every grade K-5, but have really found my place in kindergarten. This is my second year in kindergarten. I feel that because of my experience teaching all elementary grades, I know the natural progression of education and how to get students to where they need to be.

About the store
Experience
This is my 10th year of teaching. I have taught every grade K-5, but have really found my place in kindergarten. This is my second year in kindergarten. I feel that because of my experience teaching all elementary grades, I know the natural progression of education and how to get students to where they need to be.
Teaching style
I have a passion for hands-on, play-based learning. Creativity is alive and thriving in my classroom. We work on a lot of fun, fine motor activities. Many of my centers are incorporated in my sensory bin.
I have a background in literacy, which you can see shine through in my work. You will see a strong focus on phonics, phonemes, sight words, and reading strategies in my work.
As a student, math was a struggle for me. I use my past struggles to strengthen myself as a math teacher. My resources are fun, engaging, and effective teaching tools for our youngsters.

I have a Bachelor's from Russell Sage College (NY) in Childhood Education 1-6 and a Masters from the State University at Albany (NY) in Literacy Specialist B-6. I hold 3 certifications: Early Childhood Education Birth-2nd Grade, Childhood Education 1-6, and Literacy Specialist Birth-6.
Additional biographical information
I am a mother to two wonderful children. They are 5 and 2. My 5 year old is in kindergarten and has used all of my worksheets and centers. They are kid-tested and approved before using with my own students ;) I also run a small vinyl business where I create custom gifts. My rock, my husband, and I have been together for almost 13 years. He supports me and my passions wholeheartedly. I feel very fortunate and blessed in my life.
