About the store

Experience

I taught 4th grade for 9 years before moving to an elementary building to serve as the Literacy Coach and ELL interventionist which I began doing in 2017.

Teaching style

I believe in hands-on, active classrooms. As a fourth grade teacher, we did stations and rotations nearly every day. I love learning right along with my students and letting them have as much choice as possible.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I graduated high school as the Valedictorian of my class, and graduated college with a 4.0. I have recently enjoyed making videos that explain Phonemic Awareness skills from David Kilpatrick's book, "Equipped for Reading Success." These videos explain each level and allow students to practice along. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdXPky-LNzj5GWsvHuqeaQ6SdpkjgSFc-

My own education history

I have my masters in reading and National Board certification.

Additional biographical information

I love anything involving crafts, playing with my two dogs, or working in my garden.
