Creative Library Fun

These are reading challenge cards. Students have fun filling them in, stamped by teacher or librarian. I recommend stamp, punch, or permanent marker for the quickest way. You can also use stickers. The main goal is to get students to try a wide range of books - from non fiction, to fiction and biographies. Some of the cards also have a book review square to complete. This is a presentation for elementary students about literary genres. Great to use in the library or in the classroom. It is suitable for grades 3 - 5th. It was designed in canva and downloaded as a PPT. The template link for canva is here.

These are the most current list of books that share the Celebrate a Nation of Diverse Readers theme. Students can enjoy creative time when they color their own egg. Have them color the egg that is included (instructions incl), or have them use the clipart & shapes to custom design their egg. In the book P. Zonka Lays an Egg, by Julie Paschkis, the hen lays an egg that reflects what colors she loves and enjoys throughout her life. Have the students tell or write about the shapes, designs and or colors they use to decorate their egg. (bitmoji can be removed and replaced by another). enjoy.
