About the store
Helping humans grow through creativity, psychology, strategy, and tools that actually hold attention. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 21 years of experience supporting children, teens, families, educators, and wonderfully overwhelmed humans navigating emotional, behavioral, executive functioning, and life challenges. My work focuses heavily on neurodivergent learners, trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and resilience-building. Over the years, I noticed something important: A lot of emotional learning tools are technically helpful… but emotionally lifeless. So I started building something different. I create evidence-informed resources that blend psychology with creativity, storytelling, curiosity, game design, and emotionally safe learning experiences. Think SEL activities with personality, executive functioning tools disguised as strategy games, calming systems that don’t feel robotic, and therapeutic resources designed for real human brains. Every child learns differently. Every nervous system responds differently. Every brain deserves support that feels engaging, approachable, and respectful. That philosophy shapes everything I create. Whether it’s a digital escape room, coping skills game, interactive workbook, visual support tool, or quirky therapeutic activity involving goblins, raccoons, or emotionally supportive side quests… my goal is always the same: To help growth feel more human.

Experience

Teaching style

My work blends: • Counseling • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) • Executive Functioning Support • Psychoeducation • Creative Skill-Building • Gamified Learning • Coaching & Consultation • Clinical Supervision • Interactive Resource Design • Training for Educators & Mental Health Professionals I believe people learn best when they feel emotionally safe, curious, engaged, and supported — not overwhelmed by “just try harder” energy. So instead of relying on lifeless worksheets and passive learning, I focus on creating tools that encourage active participation, creativity, reflection, regulation, problem-solving, and meaningful connection. In other words: evidence-based meets creative chaos.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my favorite “shining moments” have nothing to do with formal awards. They look like: • a teen finally engaging after weeks of shutting down • a child asking to keep playing a therapy game because it “didn’t feel like therapy” • an overwhelmed parent feeling understood for the first time • an educator realizing emotional regulation tools can actually be practical and engaging • watching a student who struggled with traditional approaches suddenly light up through creativity, humor, storytelling, or play After more than two decades in this field, those moments still matter most to me. I care deeply about building resources that make people feel capable, understood, and less alone while learning important emotional and life skills. Also, I firmly believe emotional growth deserves better design than beige worksheets and clipart from 2007.

My own education history

Education * M.A. Counseling, West Virginia University (2004) * School Counseling Certification, West Virginia University (2009) * B.S. Psychology with Minor in Biology, Campbellsville University (1997)
