Teaching style

When I taught primary and secondary elementary students, I recognized the need for effective supplemental student resources to support the ever-changing curriculums. This fueled my desire to share materials I had created for my team and our students with other educators. I have spent most of my years working in a Title One school and would not trade that experience for anything! My goal each year is to help my students take ownership of their learning and to instill a love of reading and learning. It is so important to build a solid foundation for elementary school students to help them succeed in their education and beyond. I use a serendipity approach for behavior and classroom management focused on catching students doing the right thing. Developing social skills was another priority. At the end of the year, my students always wrote letters to the upcoming class. Without fail, they would provide tips about how to be successful in the classroom. My favorite tip was always to mind their manners!
