Hello! I'm Allie B and have been teaching 13 years of interdisciplinary art and music classes, and developing unique arts + technology programming for young children to college age students. I have an extensive background in contemporary art, classical music and new music composition. With a passion for cultivating play and imagination, I programs interdisciplinary workshops, and design digital educational resources for educators. Teaching style

Play-based, multidisciplinary, explorative, sound explorations, Reggio-inspired. Allie's presents art, pedagogy and play as interconnected experiences; combining the use of new media and the Reggio Emilia approach. Alanna's uses a multi-modal approach in S.T.E.A.M education which has been facilitated through galleries and schools. Her vision to make the world a better place frequently aligns with organizations who invest in music, art and technology programs for young age groups; children must be inspired and empowered to create a better future.

My own education history

BFA. Music Composition and Theory, University of Victoria, Victoria, BC SFU School of Contemporary Arts (Visual Arts), Vancouver, BC University of Victoria (Visual Arts), Victoria, BC Diploma. A.R.C.T. Piano Performance, Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, Ontario

Additional biographical information

I’m Allie. It’s so nice to meet you! I specialize in age-appropriate early childhood resources and educational programming. To quench my insatiable appetite for creative connection, I work as a community-engaged new media artist with galleries and schools, and perform in the noise/electronic music scene. I am passionate about creating more engaging learning resources for music education and shifting the power in learning art and music back to the innately creative child.
