This is a template for a nonfiction reading research project. The template is standards based and includes four different activities. The activities are titled: Asking and Answering Questions, The Main Idea, Expert Words, Most Amazing Fact. This project can be used as a wrap up activity and assessment for a nonfiction reading unit.

The Candy Heart Math Exploration is a fun and exciting way for students to explore and/or review fractions! Using candy hearts students will estimate, figure out fractional amounts, graph data, and compare results.
In this packet students will be able to use multiplication and division to solve multi-step word problems by using drawings, equations, arrays, and/or equal grouping. The packet includes a task sheet (may be used when displaying work), a task rubric, an explanation of how to use the task with three differentiated groups (reteach, peer-to-peer, enrich), and six different problems of the task.
Your students have been hired by a candy making research company. Their job is to taste eight different candy canes and use their senses to fill out the chart titled Candy Cane Tasting. After each taste they are going to try to guess the flavor, and decide how they would rate it (Super Delicious, Pretty Good, Kind Of Good, Not So Good, or Never Want This Again).
