This product introduces biological classification. It has two diagrams used for analysis, inlcuded a diagram that illustrates the different taxonomic groups and a chart that compares the taxa of 4 different animals. There is also a very simple dichotomous key included to introduce the concept. This was created using North Carolina 2024 Biology standards.
I use this when I begin my unit on Heredity. I give them some background about Mendel, and add a few notes to the margin. I then describe the seed color experiment. I have them color the female and male parent peas to start. After coloring the parents, we complete the terms definitions and then use them in discussion to color the rest. Finish by drawing some Punnett Squares in the margins.
This product is a way for students to analyze a Dihybrid Cross. The Punnett Square is already filled in. Students decide what the possible outcomes are, and then count and color code how many of each are found in the square. They then add their results to a table.
This product includes three versions of my cell cycle notes. One is completely filled out (answer key), one has fill in the blank notes, and one is empty. I use the fill in the blank for my ESL and lower level students and the empty one for my honors students. I post the key on our LMS for students who are absent.
