I've been teaching upper elementary in Southern California for 13 years.

I love art and nature, so I incorporate that into my teaching as often as possible. Being an outgoing "theater kid" growing up, I also love including social and movement-oriented activities like reader's theater with my students as often as possible. My classroom is a place where students should feel safe to explore, can move around, work together, and learn through games, play, and interaction as much as possible. I believe students need "soft skills" more than ever - social interaction, collaboration, communication, manors, and social emotional and life skills!

I went to UC Santa Barbara for my bachelor's degree in Communication, and I earned my teaching credential and Master's in the Art of Teaching from UC Irvine.

I live in Costa Mesa, CA with my husband, 2 young kids, and our golden retriever, Ben. I love being outside, spending the day at the beach, traveling, cooking, gardening, and being in bed early lol.
