About the store

Experience

I've been teaching math to high school students in Texas for the last 10 years. I've taught subjects from Algebra 1 through College Math to a variety of students. Geometry is my love.

Teaching style

My teaching style is to meet my students where they are. Sometimes that means reviewing material they are "supposed" to know before they get to me. Sometimes it means challenging them to explore a concept in a different way. Sometimes it means understanding that being a teenager is hard and they need a break every now and then.

My own education history

I began my college career planning to be a math teacher, but I changed my mind and got a degree in psychology instead. Then I went to grad school and got my masters degree in architecture because buildings are cool. After graduating I realized that I had it right the first time and began teaching.

Additional biographical information

I'm lucky to have the support of my amazing husband and beautiful baby boy. We live with our 2 cats in Austin Texas.
