Students can practice writing numbers and learn the American Sign Language sign for each number. Includes numbers 0-9. Each number shows the correct writing formation with numbers and arrows.

Each handwriting page includes uppercase and lowercase letter writing practice plus the American Sign Language sign. Each letter models proper formation with numbers and arrows, followed by dotted letters for tracing, and then a lined blank row for independent letter writing. Students will learn and reinforce vocabulary for the following parts of an apple: skin, stem, flesh, core, and seeds. The teacher cuts actual apples into pieces and discusses with students these parts and corresponding vocabulary. Students take a turn matching the paper vocabulary words with the correct apple parts. Students learn about four different apple varieties: Red Delicious, McIntosh, Golden Delicious, and Granny Smith. They describe and sample each apple, then color it. This activity may be done solo or along with the book How Do Apples Grow? by Betsy Maestro. (The book shows these four apples when explaining that apples are different colors because of how sunlight helps change the skin color of some apples.)
