About the store
This is my 30th year teaching Special Education. My first 10 years was at a nonpublic school. This is my 20th year at a Public Special Education Center. I teach district adopted 9th and 10th grade curriculum. Many of my students are far below or far above their grade level, while about half of my students function about the 5th grade academically. Therefore, my task is not only to teach them the grade-level material, but also fill in academic gaps and prepare them for the next grade level material across the curriculum.

For a long time, I would provide several different skills daily and then changed to several skills/standards each week as the students had many deficits.

Teaching style

I use Direct Instruction as it not only helps all of my students academically, but it also helps in behavior management. Through direct instruction, I can adjust teaching and expectation quickly as to not leave any student behind.
