I teach a high school "Grow Your Own" teacher program. I wanted a fun way to help my future teachers engage with Marzano's 9 Strategies that work! Students turn cards over, mix them up and take turns finding matches. In no time, your aspiring teachers will be well-versed in the nine strategies that they should use when they write lesson plans. My student have created extra examples of each of the nine strategies to make the game even more challenging.

Perfect resource for educators who want a visual reminder to use Marzano's 9 strategies that work; however, I created this resource for my Career Technical Education course, Principles of Teaching. Each PDF can be printed and made into a poster, or show them as a presentation when teaching future teachers instructional strategies supported by research.

About the store

Experience

After teaching every grade with the exception of grade 7, Dr. Kerness taught for a decade at the University of Central Florida where she trained new teachers. She recently returned to her roots, K-12 public education, where she now teaches a career interest program for high school students who are exploring the idea of becoming teachers themselves.

Teaching style

A combination of direct instruction, choice projects and hands-on experiences create the best flow for my current student population of high school students who are interested in becoming teachers themselves.

Additional biographical information

I love my retired military husband, two daughters (one's a American Sign Language teacher and the other is a pediatric oncology nurse), my fur babies and quilting! Life is good!
