I taught preschool for 6 years before starting grad school in 2007. I graduated in May 2011 and began teaching 5th grade in December. This school year I am teaching 2nd grade and will be looping with my kids to 3rd next year!
Designed to fit the 3rd grade Reading Street Common Core lesson 1, this word work center focuses on creating words with the VCCV letter pattern. It includes labels, a direction sheet, word cards, and a recording sheet.
This word work center goes along with Reading Street Unit 2 Lesson 1. Students will be sorting words into long vowel and short vowel as well as splitting the words into syllables. The center includes directions, word cards, blank word cards, and an answer sheet. This item is editable.
Students will use this self checking center to find the product of factors of tens, hundreds, and thousands. This center was designed to be used with Engage NY Grade 4 Module 3 Topic C but can be used in any 4th grade math curriculum. The center includes a recording sheet, 18 multiplication problems, 18 matching products, and an answer key.
This is a set of 4 math stations that reviews number representation, 2-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping, and adding money. This product could be used at the conclusion of second grade or beginning of 3rd. It has a summery look to it. It includes directions for each activity, cards, and recording sheets. It is my very first attempt at creating a product for TeachersPayTeachers but it is pretty darn cute (if I do say so myself)!
Students can practice multiplication with regrouping with this self-checking center activity. The activity comes with 24 3- and 4-digit times 1-digit with regrouping problems, 24 answer cards, direction sheet, and recording sheet. This would be great to use in a math center.
This Halloween themed station allows students to practice subtraction with regrouping. Some problems have multiple regrouping. It comes with a recording sheet as well as matching answer cards so that students can check their work.
This center allows students to work on addition of big numbers (thousands). The students will need to regroup to solve. There are matching answer cards to allow students to check their work. I have included a recording sheet.
This activity encourages students to use area model and/or partial product to solve multiplication problems. Students will solve each problem on the given recording sheet and find the matching product in order to self check. Designed to be used with Engage NY Grade 4 Module 3 Topic C.
This product will help you teach the concept of rounding to the nearest tens. It can be used in whole group or as a center activity. It was two sets of instructions so it can be divided into individual centers. My 3rd graders LOVED it!
Requires some prep. You will need to cut and tape number lines together.
Are your thumbs important? is a great first week of school science experiment. Students use masking tape to tape their thumbs down to their palms and try to do the list of activities. This is a recording sheet for the experiment.
